Brand new scales

This is the first piece of fan art that I made for Cassette Beasts, and part of how I realised the degree to which I liked the game was when I found myself drawing this in my small sketchbook. Everyone has a way of expressing their love for art, and for me it's to draw.

There are few greater compliments that I can give something than "It made me reach for a pencil".

For your perfect skin

Cassette Beasts comes with a character creator, which is a perfect way for me to get invested in a game. You've either got to write a seriously strong protagonist (e.g. Shulk Xenoblade) or you can let me make an avatar of my own, whereby I will fill in characterisation gaps using my imagination whilst I'm off not playing the game (e.g. Cross Xenoblade).

I remember really enjoying the genre inconsistency of giving my character both a futuristic visor and a poncho that wouldn't feel out of place in a good ol' yee-haw flick. In a rare move for my post-Nier sensibilities, I decided to forgo white hair in favour of my second favourite colour: bright blue. A white poncho and orange visor completed the Feisar colour scheme.

I kinda want to recreate this outfit IRL. I reckon I could pull it off, though I might need to get better about people perceiving me if I'm going to dress this unconventionally.

It's amusing that even this very first piece of art features Palangolin as my signature creature. I knew my tastes from the very first area of the game.
